Examination Guidlines: Grade 2 to 7

Stage 1: Before the Exam

  • Reporting Time for all staff during Exam days – 07:05 a.m. Late mark 07:15 onwards.
  • No leave requests will be approved at a short notice.
  1. Admin – Main Booklets 40, Supplements – 80 and 40 Threads – To be placed in classrooms where Gr 6 and 7 are seated for the exam. (304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 208). Packets of QPs in counts of 20 will be created by Admin a day prior to the exam.
  2. Seating Arrangement is designed to mix 20 students of two grades in each class from Grades 4 to 7.
  3. While for all subjects students are allocated classes as per roll numbers, for ELGA exam, the name list will be shared to have one level of ELGA sitting together in a class.
  4. Seating Arrangement is classwise for students from Grades 1 to 3. Only for ELGA, kids are expected to move to their respective ELGA classrooms.
  5. Teachers must pick the Question Paper packets from the Office by 07:15 a.m.
  6. Children from Gr 4 to 7 sit in their own classes from 07:15 to 07:45.
  7. 07:15 to 07:30 Morning Meeting, 07:30 to 07:45 Snack break and Attendance to be taken by the teacher in class and Absent list to be posted in the grade groups. Kids can use the time to revise till 07:45
  8. SW and Helpers to ensure that Absent students are called up.
  9. Students who need Counselor support for the exam to proceed to the hall by 07:45.
  10. 20 students from each class move out to go to their respective exam rooms. Teachers must ensure the other 20 are retained in class.
  11. Children must place their belongings and keep only stationery and a water bottle in the exam room.

Stage 2: During the Exam

  1. No bags or books are allowed in the classroom except writing pad, pouch and water bottle.
  2. Teachers must ensure one child from each grade is seated on a bench.
  3. Children must be encouraged to use the washroom or fill their water bottles before 08:00 a.m. 08:00 to 08:10 a.m. QP distribution time and reading time.
  4. Invigilators must distribute only the main booklet initially. Supplements must be distributed as and when kids request for it. With the first supplement itself the invigilator must hand in the thread to the student.
  5. Students must be told to number the supplements and tie them along with the main booklet 15 minutes before the duration of the exam.
  6. Invigilator sign is a must on the Main booklet. Please ensure the number of supplements is correctly entered by kids before collecting back the papers.
  7. Answer papers to be taken only after the exam duration is completed.
  8. Any kind of malpractice should be dealt with strictly.
  9. In Grades 1 to 3, Invigilators can read the Questions in the QP or help children understand the Question in English.
  10. Spelling help is not encouraged across grades.

  11. In Grades 4 to 7, Independent work must be the focus. In case of doubts raised by kids, do clarify in English however ensuring that no clue or answer is given explicitly.

  12. Circulation with purpose is a must at regular intervals. Invigilators must not sit on desks or tables, please use a chair. Avoid using mobile phones excessively during invigilation.

Stage 3: After the Exam

  1. Bundles must be made grade wise and submit it in the office within 15 minutes post the exam along with clarity of student count of each grade – Present and Absent.
  2. Subject teachers must collect their respective bundles between 12:30 to 01:00 on the same day. They must count each bundle and ensure the count is correct.
  3. Correction only in a pink pen. Please ensure the total is entered on top of the answer scripts and signature is with date. 
  4. Positive remarks or remarks to clarify what was expected can be added in the answer scripts while correcting. Big circles around erroneous answers, spellings or underlining the whole paragraph or cutting across an answer or asking rhetorical qs as remarks in answer scripts is not permitted etc.
